Oeste Platense is a news portal from the city of La Plata, Argentina, dedicated exclusively to covering general interest news related to the west side of the city.
In 2020, I was responsible for overseeing the migration of the portal’s servers following its acquisition by the company where I was employed. This involved not only the technical aspects of the server transfer but also significant updates to the website’s design. I ensured that the site was updated regularly and maintained robust security measures to protect it from the increasing cyber-attacks that were prevalent during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Additionally, I organised and led numerous training sessions with the staff and reporters. These sessions were designed to teach them how to effectively use the portal, including uploading, updating, and moderating the news articles. I was also responsible for implementing necessary modifications to the site, ensuring it remained adaptable to the evolving demands and decisions during that period. This role required a combination of technical expertise and effective communication skills to ensure the smooth operation and continual improvement of the news portal.
