Juggling the demands of a global brand’s guidelines with the effort of creating a new narrative inspired by a well-known story.

Harry Potter y la Piedra Filosofal – The Play

In 2016, my journey with the wizarding world began at London’s Palace Theatre with a spellbinding preview of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” Inspired by the magic of the West End production and in celebration of the saga’s 20th anniversary, I embarked on a heartfelt quest to bring the enchantment to Argentina through a non-profit theatrical venture.

Navigating through a whirlwind of emails and connections, I secured the performance rights, albeit for a humble production unlike the grand spectacles of Broadway or the West End. Our production was fueled by love and crafted by passionate fans, each eager to pay homage to the beloved series.

The road to our debut was paved with challenges and triumphs. Armed with newfound determination, I delved into the realm of costume design, immersing myself in the art of sewing—a daunting yet exhilarating endeavor. Balancing the intricacies of costume creation with the demands of managing a cast of twenty and orchestrating marketing efforts proved to be a test of resilience and multitasking prowess.

Every detail, from the costumes to the captivating posters with photos captured by my dear friend Nadia, was made with love. With unwavering dedication, I orchestrated the logistical intricacies, liaising with venues and ensuring compliance with the stringent guidelines demanded by a globally renowned brand.

I took on the responsibility of designing the branding for the production, not using the iconic Harry Potter logo. Instead, I designed a fresh and minimalistic logo, specifically tailored for the play while retaining key elements such as the distinctive lightning bolt motif.

In September 2017, our collective efforts culminated in a magical spectacle that drew throngs of devoted fans. Yet, beyond the applause and admiration, this project served as a profound lesson in perseverance and resourcefulness. It taught me the art of effective communication, the importance of believing in one’s vision, and the intricacies of navigating partnerships with iconic brands.

Above all, it was a testament to the transformative power of passion and dedication—an odyssey that imbued me with invaluable lessons and memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Warner Bros. and JK Rowling were not responsible for this play.

Being part of this play was truly engaging. There were even talks about adapting the third book, complete with a designed logo (as displayed above). However, the idea was ultimately abandoned due to the clash with my existing workload.
